That said, if you pay an entry fee, you aren't counted in the quota of full NPCs (that 3 cap is because most of the sites charge per person, so we have an upper limit of folks that can have a free event)

I am sorry melton, i am one of the people who were under the impression that you could pay for the event and then get hourly bribe.
I guess in true sense i was trying to turn my Npc into a Full time Npc who payed for his event and got an hour rate. not even asking for the donation part of the bribe, because he was just paying to be on the PC rate. i think this was a mis understanding because i was not there to explain what i was trying to do for my friend, i apologize for the confusion and the intent was not to work the system, I am not trying to cheat you guys out for more bribe, really honestly were just tryin to help, (i was paying for his event because he could not afford to the event itself, but if he needs to pay for his own event to get the PC rate i understand)

Now, what if we just want to only NPC the event, but the full time npc slot's are filled? Would we be SoL and have to NPC part-time? Or would we be allowed to pay the entry fee and just get the other benefits? I"m asking this because I was going to do that possibly after the October event so I would have enough time to get armor for my character and not lose my blanket when I came back.

So a Player's options are:

Register as an NPC, and spend the entire game NPCing:
Pay $0 - Earn 200 bribe & blanket for one character.

Register as a PC, and spend the entire game NPCing:
Pay $30 - Earn 380 bribe & blanket for one character.

Register as a PC, and spend part of the game NPCing, and the remainder playing 1 or 2 PCs:
Pay $30 - Earn bribe at the hourly rate & get blanket for character(s) played.

(edited)

By the way, you will not loose blanket for not having your armour physrepped. You will simply not be able to have your character wear that armour, ie you will not benefit from those tags. You will only loose blanket if your racial makeup does not meet minimum standards.

Full NPCs get blanket for one character of their choice. Says so in Melton's initial post, though it's from a billion years ago. Razz

Both forms of full NPC grant blanket for ONE character of the person's choosing (so remember to sign out and let logistics know).

For those that pay but only NPC you can get blanket for one NPC, the normal 200 bribe, AND 180 bribe as a donation (since you effectively are paying to play a character but then donating all of your time to plot). The catch - YOU MUST COMMUNICATE ALL OF THIS CLEARLY TO LOGISTICS AT SIGN IN and at SIGN OUT and MUST HAVE PLOT APPROVAL. If logistics does not know that you were doing that they cannot award the person appropriately.

Huh. I've been missing out on a lot of blanket then.

I edited my post above just in case a new person skims through, so they'll get the right info.

Everyone who is full NPC make sure you are cleared through plot Before preregistering as such.

Also a question, the fee paid should be the normal event fee, correct? E.g. $40 for attending.

So I thought the Full-time NPC slots were first come first serve UNTIL all three were filled at which point you need to make arrangements with plot.

No, it has always been the case that Full Time NPCs require prior approval from plot before preregistering as such.

@Chris I meant in the case of PCs paying as a PC and giving over all event as an NPC instead.

Well this is what it says on the pre-register page.
Quote:
The first three players that Preregister are eligable to be Dedicated NPCs, and only players that Preregister may be Dedicated NPCs even if the three available slots are not filled after Preregistration has closed.

I'm pretty sure Allen was simply pointing out that we can find nowhere where it says that you need to get prior approval from Plot to NPC, including this thread.

Just that if Plot wants more than the 3, first come, first serve NPC's then Plot needs to get approval from the Owners.

Is this still true? Or do Players need to get Plots approval before pre regging as an NPC, as Abe says?
